Spring ISD is excited to introduce Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) at Dekaney High School for the 2021-2022 school year. P-TECH is an innovative high school that allows students to receive curriculum focused on workforce needs and partnerships while obtaining credentials, certificates and an associate degree.
Students participating in the P-TECH can:
Earn a high school diploma and an associate degree in computer programming at no cost
Graduate with up to 60 college credit hours transferable to any Texas supported college or university
Gain work experience through internships, apprenticeships or job training programs
P-TECH Vision
Our vision is to create an atmosphere where Dekaney Wildcats grow academically, develop socially, think independently, and communicate effectively in pursuit of their success.
P-TECH Mission
Dekaney High School P-TECH will provide students equitable access to rigorous and relevant learning experiences in information technology through innovative and collaborative instruction to graduate leaders who prepared for post secondary success.
Students must apply for the P-TECH program and will begin coursework in the 9th grade.
P-TECH students can leave high school with a diploma and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Computer Programming to transfer to a four-year Bachelor of Applied Science Degree or gain the skills to move into a high demand job. Industry certificate opportunities will include computer programming, game design, animation, and coding.
