Dr. Edward Roberson Middle School's mission is to collaborate with all campus stakeholders to establish a learning environment that features authentic, engaging activities that stimulate students' curiosity while building their capacity to master learning goals in all academic communities and become leaders of tomorrow.

The Dr. Edward Roberson Middle School will produce well-educated, well-rounded, culturally-sensitive and socially-conscious individuals, and cultivate their creative and innovative ability so they can flourish and become the leaders of tomorrow.
Our History
Dr. Edward Roberson, our school’s namesake, who was affectionately called “Dr. Ed” by all that knew him, was born in 1919 in El Dorado, Arkansas. As a youth, his active participation in Scouts earned him Eagle Scout and Sea Scout rankings. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Engineering from the University of Arkansas. From 1942-1946, he served as a B-29 pilot in World War II. After the war, Dr. Ed ventured into a career in medicine and received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas in 1952. He served his country again in the Korean War from 1952-1955 as a flight surgeon with the U.S. Air Force. He practiced medicine for a short while in Tennessee, and relocated to Houston in 1957. He helped to plan and construct Tidelands Hospital in Channelview in 1960, where he served as Chief of the Medical Staff for two years and Chairman of the Board for ten years. In 1971, he helped to plan, construct and purchase the site for Houston Northwest Medical Center on FM 1960, and worked in the same capacity to create Northeast Medical Center in Humble, Texas in 1975, where he served as the Chief of Staff for two years. He served on various other committees throughout his career and, after practicing medicine for more than 30 years, retired in 1982. Dr. Ed passed away on August 24th, 2005, but his legacy will live on through the lives he touched, his various accomplishments, his contributions to our community, and the students that will grace the halls of the school that is named after him.
